Malay village

The commune of Malay , made up of 5 hamlets with Le Bourg, Cortemblin, Ougy, Seugne and La Place, is located in the Grosne valley, near the Roman road which connects Mâcon to Autun.

The remains of a Roman bridge over the Grosne, visible until the Second World War, suggest a Gallo-Roman occupation on the site.

Malay has two beautiful Romanesque churches: that of the village, former priory (1095-1790) and that of the hamlet of Ougy.

The church of Malay, Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité is mentioned as a crossing point on an initiatory path to Compostela at the beginning of the 12th century in the book "Les étoiles de Compostelle" by Henri Vincenot.

The ecclesia of Maleto * is mentioned in the Bullarium Cluniacense ** from 1095. She was a rich agricultural deanery of the abbey of Cluny.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.
